Sannam S4 is seeking an International Officer (North America) to plan and deliver recruitment activities and grow brand recognition amongst key influencer networks for a leading UK university, the University of York.

The International Recruitment team is tasked with developing a strategy to achieve substantial growth in our overseas student population at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
This role, as a member of Sannam S4’s higher education advisory team will support the University’s international recruitment and marketing team in the region, focusing on the western part of the USA. Preference given to candidates located in California or Texas.
Overview of Role
To enhance the capacity of the University, which is seeking to strengthen its presence in the USA this role will lead on the development and implementation of outreach, marketing, and recruitment strategies across undergraduate and graduate programmes
The role will be home-based and reports into Sannam S4’s Partner Success Manager.

Key responsibilities and objectives of the job:
•Identifies opportunities – and effectively communicates these opportunities in the form of written strategic plans and initiatives – to increase market visibility for the University, advising and developing marketing and communication strategies and viable advertising opportunities in the US market and other means of raising awareness about study at the University.
•Plan and execute on and offline recruitment activities within the assigned budget, including recruitment fairs, conferences and school and university visits. Comfortable preparing and delivering presentations to a range of audiences. Confident in the logistical planning and coordination of the travel details with the above events.
•Build effective relationships with source institutions such as schools, colleges and universities, both individually and in collaboration with representatives from other UK universities.
•Provides market insight on North American trends and makes recommendations to support informed decision making for the development of the marketing strategies of these markets.
•Liaise with colleagues at the University to progress applications and ensure a quick and efficient turn-around of enquiries and applications, prioritising as necessary to maximise yield.
•Liaises closely with a range of colleagues in the International Recruitment team and acts as a key contact for this offices’ staff and other University personnel visiting the USA.
•Contributes to the development of on and offline marketing tools, including social media and presence on relevant online media; and contributes to the development of marketing messages and collateral development to support the University’s international recruitment.
•Liaises with the Office of Philanthropic Partnerships and Alumni to develop a system for best utilizing local alumni networks focusing on recruitment activities.
•Identifies and initiates links with universities, government agencies and other organizations in the designated markets, in close collaboration with colleagues across International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility.
•Is a team player providing mutual support and encouragement to other team members including the Regional Manager (North America) based in York.
•Develops effective internal and external working relationships with a range of campus communities, and external partners, representatives, and professional organizations.
•Perform other such duties and projects as required, under the direction of the International Recruitment Manager.

Knowledge of the higher education industry

Willingness and ability to work independently
Willingness to work off-hours to accommodate the UK time-zone
Willingness and ability to travel regularly (in North America and abroad)
Minimum bachelor’s degree
Proficiency in the use of all MS office and Google Suite applications
Prior experience of using digital platforms to manage a sales pipeline is desirable.
