We are looking for a bright and capable individual to support our client the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, UK, to fulfill its objectives in the India market.
He/she will support the recruitment function and ensure the Faculty of Engineering grows its presence in the India market. The candidate should have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and should have the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders in the education sector.
As the candidate will be working remotely with the Faculty of Engineering’s on-campus team, staff and advisers across countries, he/she should be highly organized, self-motivated and comfortable working with differences in time zones.
This role will require the candidate to spend considerable time travelling to cities within India and to the University (at least once a year). Therefore, he/she is expected to be flexible to work during weekends and evenings, as required.
The job-holder’s primary focus will be carrying out the University’s recruitment activities in India while other responsibilities include assisting with market strategy and brand building. The position involves frequent, sophisticated interaction with international clients and significant travel time is required.

Role
As a Recruitment Adviser, you will implement marketing plans to recruit students from India. Specifically, you will:
• Attend education fairs and recruitment events across India to meet and advise prospective students and offer-holders on a range of matters including programs, entry requirements and application processes.
• Support recruitment-focused events like offer-holder briefings and pre-departure events by booking venue(s), sending invitations, attending events across India etc.
• Support promotional campaigns such as promotion of scholarships to offer-holders through distribution of materials to relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct market research by gathering contact information for high school counsellors and competitor institution entry requirements from India. Analyze India market data.
• Facilitate applications and maximize conversion of leads to offer holders to enrolled students.
Student support:
• Maintain excellent ‘customer service’ by answering all enquiries from prospective students and parents.
• Collect accurate enquiry details.
• Follow up with students met at recruitment events to increase application conversion.
Staff support:
• Support and interact with University staff during their India visit(s).
• Develop and maintain the University’s social media presence in India.

• Excellent ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written communications).

• Conversant with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Flexible, committed and driven.
• one to three years’ experience in international student recruitment or marketing in a higher education environment.
• Experience communicating with a wide range of audiences and tailoring written and spoken communication as appropriate.
• Experience organizing events.
• Experience using social media as a marketing tool.
• Experience working or studying in the UK can be an asset.
• Familiarity with Scotland, the UK and Scottish Higher Education would be desirable.
Qualification:
Graduates or post-graduates in any discipline, preferably with a degree in Business or Marketing.
