Job Purpose
Sannam S4 is seeking to appoint an ambitious dynamic team player in the position of Senior Support Officer-Conversion for University of Portsmouth, UK. The designated Senior Officer- conversion will play a critical role in making recruitment process successful for the university.
University of Portsmouth was started in 1869 and gained university status in 1992. It is ranked 21st in the UK by Guardian /university guide 2019 and is ranked the first for boosting graduate salaries by the Economist,2017.
The primary focus of the role will be to assist in the development and implementation of the university’s recruitment strategy in India, alongside India Regional Adviser. Other responsibilities will include agency relationship management and brand development.
The post holder must be outcomes and results-oriented and enthusiastic to adopt a creative and innovative approach. The post will require extensive travel, including weekends and out of office hours, for which flexible working and time in lieu is offered. Since the candidate will be working remotely with the university’s on-campus team, he/she should be highly organized, self-motivated and comfortable working with differences in time zones. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills and have strong communication skills.

Main Responsibilities
As a Senior Support Officer-Conversion, you will be required to support the India Regional Adviser in conversion activities and to provide market information. Specifically, you will provide:
• Counsel and convert support to applicants throughout to the applicant journey.
• Conduct compliance checks for applicants as per the guidelines outlined by the University
• Call and follow up with the applicant’s enquiries pre and post offer.
• Assist in building working relationships with recruitment agents.
• Advise prospective students and offer-holders on a range of matters including courses, entry requirements, application, Visa processes and accommodations etc.
• Support recruitment-focused events such as offer-holder briefings and pre-departure events by booking venue(s), sending invitations, attending events across India etc.
• Book travel requirements in line with set budgets.
• Conduct agent counsellor training sessions (virtual and in-house) on need basis.
• Oversee merchandise and collateral requirements for marketing activities.
• Work with India Regional Adviser, undertake competitor market research focusing on applicants’ trends and other areas. Analyse data and contribute to recommendations based on the information.
• Participate in fairs conducted by stakeholders for recruitment purposes as and when required to support the University team
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with colleagues and service delivery partners. Multitask across multiple projects with multiple stakeholders across the organization, meeting deadlines and objectives.
• Document and communicate key milestones in the applicant process clearly.
• Visualize data and present complex data and findings via infographic and MS Office tools.
• Guide and develop junior colleagues on need basis

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Relevant postgraduate or professional qualification
EXPERIENCE
Experience of working in student recruitment or similar environment for at least 3-5 years
Experience of the higher education sector in UK, preferably including study abroad, through work or study
Experience of counselling students and parents
Familiar with reporting, comfortable with numbers and presenting data in report formats
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Knowledge and understanding of the education system and understanding of the range of issues relevant to students contemplating study in the UK
Sound knowledge of processes and procedures underpinning successful international student recruitment, such as enquiry management, admissions, immigration issues
Excellent written and oral communication skills with high attention to detail
Ability to communicate confidently and clearly to a wide range of audiences via a variety of media
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise and establish rapport with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
Ability to build successful relationships and networks of contacts
IT literacy and understanding and knowledge of working with databases and CRM software
Excellent organizational skills including ability to manage heavy workload, prioritize competing demands and work to deadlines
Excellent content and social media skills

OTHER / SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Flexibility and a willingness to work outside of normal office hours, including some weekends
