Team Lead- Impact Evaluation of a project under the Forest Department of Assam

Job Location :
Can be based in Guwahati or any other location.
Substantial travel (25-40%) to Guwahati and other project locations in Assam is required.

Job Summary :
Sambodhi is looking for a Team Lead for the Impact Evaluation of a Forestry, Climate, and Biodiversity project under the Forest Department of Assam. It is a 5-year project focusing on the conservation of ecosystems; Community engagement; Strengthening institutions; and climate, gender, and social inclusion as a recurring theme. The current scope of the assignment is to carry out an Impact Evaluation of this project. The duration of the impact evaluation shall be 1 year (extendable by another 1 year).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Development of study design, sample size, and methodology for evaluating the implementation of the APFBC Phase II.
  • Data collection from the relevant stakeholders as per the approved methodology.
  •  Carry out the comprehensive outcome and impact-focused evaluations of the project at two defined milestones- a mid-term and end-term review.
  • Use both quantitative and qualitative methods for assessment and prepare a report with an interpretation of results and recommendations.
  • Consolidation of the information generated by the concurrent monitoring (primarily on inputs & outputs) and periodic monitoring (primarily on outcomes & impacts) by the client to update the key performance indicators for the project.
  • 6 thematic studies related to the objectives of the assignment.
  • Identifying bottlenecks and suggesting corrective actions.
  • Conducting action research.

Candidate Attributes:

Education:
 • Qualified candidate(s) will have a Postgraduate in Economics/ Statistics/ Forestry or a closely related field from any recognized university/ Govt. approved Institution.

Experience:
• 15 years in a senior managerial position including at least 5 years of leading M&E mandate in government or development projects.
• Extensive experience with M&E systems and result frameworks for international development programs.
• Experience with methods and techniques of qualitative and quantitative M&E data collection and analysis, including tracking outcome indicators.
• Previous experience in research, evaluation, and documentation of public sector reform initiatives.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and proficiency in English.
• Experience as Team Lead in large-scale Government assignments.
